Accessibility Statement
I mean to make this website accessible to all users through the act of simplifying the ability to navigate. When I was an undergraduate at the University of Iowa I took a course called Human-Computer interaction where I learned many of the basics of how to design an interface for optimal use. The most important things that I learned within this class that I have applied to this website were that you want to be able to reach every page in three clicks or less and that you want to keep these way finders (buttons, links, etc.) in view if possible.
I have achieved this by making the information on a majority of the pages visible without the need for scrolling. This keeps everything within the website in view and allows the user the navigate without needing to be consistently moving up or down each page to switch to a different one.
This website was created using the HTML5 Up template labeled “Editorial” and is hosted on GitHub. I decided to pursue the creation of this website through HTML editing rather than through a website creator like Wordpress or Webnode because of my background in coding and my desires to be in full control of the space and design.
